Your session details
Session length: 60 minutes, but if you can’t stay for the whole time that is fine.
Cost: $100 for the initial consultation then $12.50 per session.
Referrals: No referral required.
Initial Consultation: A 45 minute consultation will be required before you can attend the first session. During this session basic health measures (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation etc) will be taken. A discussion about the conduct of the session will also occur.
Health Insurance: Bring your private health insurance card as some insurers pay for these sessions in part or full.
Bring anything that pertains to your health.
What to expect going into the session?
Being nervous is normal. You will be meeting new people and some of them will be quite strong. Don’t judge yourself based on their abilities, they have been doing it for longer than you.
I will gently push you to make progress every session. Being strong and fit is like having savings in the bank; more is better enabling you to deal with bigger issues when they arise.
The first session is intentionally not very difficult. Although you may be capable of lifting or doing more, all you will get out of it is being excessively sore.
Expect some muscle soreness for the few days after the first session. This is normal. Your body may not be adapted to exercising or moving this way and is letting you know. It only occurs after the first session, provided you continue to exercise.
How long will it take to see results?
- Each session you will see progress, depending on your injury and health status.
Sick of receiving bad healthcare? I was too...
From my military service I have received my fair share of injuries and illnesses that I continue to work on. I have a family, wife and two young children, that I sometimes find difficult to play with due to injuries and illnesses that I sustained while serving.
I had become frustrated with the health care I had received in the past, feeling that it fell short of my expectations. I felt that my providers didn’t fully explain my condition or the reasoning behind the treatments they prescribed. Looking back, I believe that some of the advice I received was just plain wrong.
During my time as an Exercise Physiologist I have been fortunate to assist University of Southern Queensland (USQ) by providing supervision to their exercise physiology students on professional placement, as well as being the Chair of the USQ Sport and Exercise Advisory Committee.
Client testimonials
“I am proud of what I have achieved in the last 12months. I am actually half my starting weight… having lost over 63kg. But so much more than weight loss… it’s my personal strength, my fitness, my self belief. You have helped me believe in myself, my strength, my abilities… so thanks for everything you have done as part of my journey. In case no one has told you recently, you changed my life… so thank you”
